Why would they do that if Trump’s out on the 20th?

Have you read the part about us being guaranteed a “Republican” form of government? Pretty dang important, we do not get it when criminals in and out of a certain state fake the decisions of the people of that state and transmit a decision to Washington that those people did not actually make. PERIOD. The Supreme Court was too chicken to stand up for us on this, so the executive branch steps in and does it.
Have you read the 14th amendment and comsidered the historical use of Federal troops by the excutive branch to enforce American rights even at STATE initiated and operated and supported entities such as schools?
Have you read the ninth amendment in which we the people have (unalienable) rights that are not written in the constitution?
The US code is bogus in situations where following it violates other higher rights. That is part of why we have separation of powers. The supreme court overturns things, and the executive branch can too when obvious greater unconsitutional wrongs are occurring at a state level and they have not been properly addressed.
It is illegal for climinals to take over a state and send fake election data to Washington. We do not have to accept that. If it seems that that happened it cannot be accepted even if one or two branches of the government wimp out on admitting it.
If the situation is a bit more subtle, but it still has striong evidence it occurred and was ignored, then the executive branch should rise to the occasion and cause some delay and examination when other previous processes have failed to properly do that. Delaying things is not unprecidented.
By your defense of the executive branch not being strong in this, you are simply using an excuse to be a purist, as bad as strict libertarians are for their little ideal world. You are throwing out the baby with the bathwater. It does not make you look like a patriot, just the opposite.
I expected better from Pence and am as disappointed as everyone.

Seems to me, Woods was spot on with Mike Pence and the treachery we should expect.
We have all known this stuff for weeks. All Trump had to do was send federal agents to secure the voting machines in the six states and perform forensic audits. The left would have howled unconstitutional but so what? Its not martial law. Once the truth came out the fuss would have died down and this would all be over. I don’t understand why he didn’t do it and I never will. Its insane that he did not do it.

So all the evidence can be covered up before being released by the president. He also will not be able to pardon and to cripple any comeback from Trump and the Trump movement.
I have to disagree with your assessment that Pence was a coward, I just read his 3 page letter to Eastman and the President. Mr. Pence stated that he will “do his duty to ensure these concerns receive a fair and open hearing”, which is exactly what took place.
While I don’t like the result of this, the plain English writing of Amendment 12 and US Code simply do not support any other path for the President of the Senate to take.
Since Rudy and Eastman are supposedly experts maybe they can explain why they never took any action concerning the last sentence of the 12th Amendment.” But no person constitutionally ineligible to the office of President shall be eligible to that of Vice-President of the United States.”
An old saying is “Don’t put all your eggs in one basket”, sadly it appears the Trump team did just that.

Please read the 12th Amendment and US Code title 2 and title 3 and then go read Pence’s 3 page letter and show us all where the President of the Senate had any choice other than to do what he did.

Pence went on to violate two of the constitutional provisions in the evening while earlier rejecting the provision that he had agreed to with President’s team. If he had objections to this, he should have told the team then, rather than stabbing the President in the back.
