January 6th’s events are being seized on as a game-changer, leading to calls to invoke the 25th Amendment, calls to impeach and remove President Trump, and discrediting Trump, his supporters, and conservatism. It has distracted attention from issues around the legitimacy of voting procedures in several key states, and guaranteed the Electoral College vote just before 4 AM that ratified Joe Biden’s and Kamala Harris’s inauguration as president and vice president.
Applying the classic legal question “cui bono?” (“who benefits?”), it is clear that Democrats, anti-Trump establishment Republicans, the leftist media, and TDS sufferers all are victorious.

Elsewhere at the Capitol, the police sent out to hold a perimeter were unable to hold off mobs.

There is no stopping a large group of people if they want to reach something. A legit riot and uprising and you see it would be over for these demigods. Look at the pics of them crawling on the bellies yesterday.

All I know about is the lady.
First, capital police simply means door-guards of a marginal quantity. Pay-scale for a entry-level guy is $56,000 and for a 4-to-8 year guy...maybe around $65k to $75k. In the DC area...that won’t really get you that far (in 2010 for the Arlington area, I paid $1300 a month for a studio apartment).
Most of these guys will tell you that they are glorified door-guards and nothing more than that. They may have training and were told of the serious nature of protecting the Senate/House members....but it’s mostly a BS-job.
On top of this....you aren’t really told what the ‘orders’ of the day were. Did someone suggest to relax standards? Were most of the ‘guards’ in the Congress hall and not in the office area? There are plenty of details simply left unreported (mostly because we have high-school level idiots pretending to be journalists).
I don’t think this is a failure to protect....it’s more of an issue...what the heck do you want to protect and how quick are you to use a gun? Isn’t this the problem facing regular police throughout the nation today?
