Iran requested the International Criminal Police Organization (Interpol) to issue a “red notice” for the arrest of President Trump and 47 other U.S. officials on Tuesday due to the killing of top Iranian Gen. Qassem Soleimani last year.
Iranian judiciary spokesman Gholamhossein Esmaili labeled Trump as “the main culprit” in Soleimani’s killing, which he called a “terrorist crime,” the semiofficial Mehr News Agency reported, according to NPR. Other U.S. officials included in the request are U.S. military commanders and officials in the region and at the Pentagon.
The request represented the second time Iran has asked for assistance in arresting the president.
"The request to issue 'Red Notice' for 48 people involved in the assassination of Martyr Soleimani, including the U.S. president, as well as commanders and officials at the Pentagon and forces in the region, were handed over to Interpol," Esmaili said during a briefing.
Interpol red notices appeal to law enforcement agencies around the globe to assist in locating and arresting fugitives, who are being prosecuted or are wanted for prison sentences.
But Interpol’s General Secretariat told NPR that the police association's constitution says “it is strictly forbidden for the Organization to undertake any intervention or activities of a political, military, religious or racial character.”
Trump and other administration officials said the U.S. targeted Soleimani in a January 2020 strike that ended up killing the general. The president had said Soleimani was “plotting imminent and sinister attacks” against the U.S.
A United Nations investigator later concluded that the U.S. strike “was unlawful and arbitrary under international law.”
Iran has pledged retribution for the general’s killing, and days later the country launched a rocket strike on an Iraqi air base housing U.S. forces, leading to the traumatic brain injuries of more than 100 U.S. service members. The country first requested Trump’s arrest in June.
On the one year anniversary of Soleimani’s death, Iran’s judiciary chief Ebrahim Raisi said, “Trump will have to pay back, whatever his position,” NPR reported, citing conservative Iranian newspaper Kayhan.
"Whether he heads the U.S. administration or not, Trump should face retribution for the atrocity he has perpetrated," he said.
Dems would band him over in a heartbeat
Someone should create Qassem Soleimani picture adhesive urinal targets
Not just the Dems...
The ONLY reason the two parties exist is to give voters an illusion of choice.
Yup.😝
I just asked interpol to arrest Biden and Harris.
NOt a prudent idea.
YOu commie bastards lay a finger on the Donald all hell will break loose.
Honest.
Bomb. Bomb, Bomb, Bomb, Bomb Iran.
Former Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet, despite having a diplomatic passport, was arrested for trial when he traveled to Europe for medical treatment. Someone tried to make a citizens arrest of former Vice President Cheney. An NGO for human rights has condemned and tried to have many former US presidents and other figures arrested over the years. This call for arrests is nothing new. However, it might be wise for Trump to avoid many countries from now on. If there’s a Biden presidency Biden’s handlers might actively lobby to get some country to arrest Trump. (I think it would be a HUGE mistake. But given the insanity on the liberal side, it’s one they would joyously make.)
LMAO.
Clowns.
Vince Vance & the Valiants.
Wish they’d play that today at the Ellipse.
Dictatorships abuse Interpol red notice system, but this is only a threat to “little people”.
There has been a case, where Russia managed to put up a notice for an escaped dissident, who had been given asylum in Europe and the incompetents in Spain held him for 36 hours and almost sent him to Russia.
About 10 years ago they managed to sneak in a red notice for a mayoral candidate of my hometown Tallinn, Estonia. They did it on Friday evening and the elections were on Sunday.
They even used the picture from his ceremony, where he was getting some Iraq War medal from America. Interpol didn’t manage to take it down before Monday so during the election weekend the Russian propaganda was blasting to local Russians about an “American lackey murderer of Iraq children wanted by the Interpol” wanting to be the mayor.
The organs of government and of NGO’s have been coopted to serve the interests of the Left. In the US 21 of Trump’s lawyers, or lawyers who have filed suits that would have helped Trump, have had “ethics” complaints filed against them. The bars, who handle the complaints, are notoriously liberal, so it’s possible many of Trump’s lawyers will lose their license. That means their education is now worthless as far as making a living. While this won’t likely affect the current situation, it will affect the support conservatives get from the legal community in the future.
There seems to be no end to the cancer that is the Left. It is widespread and has strategic depth. Obviously, none of these people have read about the French Revolution. The more successful they are in taking down the Right, the sooner they too will fall victims of the metaphorical guillotine.
Whatever Obama Advisor Valerie Jarrett says...
But in this case every American named there is safe from the Interpol red notices. A lot of good people have worked for the goal of bringing interpol’s buerocratic rot and corruption to light and that sort of thing doesn’t work any more.
One of them was an American businessman Bill Browder (his grandpa was a commie, but he is not). He got arrested 7 times when Russians went after him, but he was big enough that they couldn’t get away with it.
UAE official ‘accused of torture’ running to be head of Interpol
Yes... Been that way for generations...
