Pretty obvious he is securing a position within the Deep State.
Scott was first appointed to the position by - you guessed it, Nikki Haley. And guilty people everywhere felt so good. And for the same reason guilty people felt good about themselves when Obama was elected president.
Since he has done just enough to get reelected. The son of a share-cropper and all that.

He was a never-Trumper from the beginning. Remember that meeting that took place where CEOs and politicians met to discuss how to remove Donald Trump (Not yet president). Tim Scott attended that meeting. I have to look for it.
He wants the incoming Democrat /Communist administration to treat him nice- shoot him last.
