In a time of information overload, I do wish articles would start with some sort of bullet list of what they are claiming.
Once upon a time, the rule for good writing was:
Tell me what you are going to tell me.
Tell me.
Tell me what it is that you just told me.
Now we start off with some charming story “In early December 2016, Devin Nunes was growing suspicious …”
And this is followed by a whole of lot of words, covering a whole lot of ground, and I’m sorry to be an impatient moron, but I don’t really know the crux of what the author is saying. Too long; Did Not Read.
It’s the same with long speeches. I find them boring and refuse to listen to them. Say what you have to say and get it over with.
