There is one particular resident who got the apartment from her ex husband, has a good job now, but still refuses to pay any rent. They should have the right to get her hauled out.
Not even mentioning just how low a character must you be to knowingly be the cause for an 88 y/o alzheimers patient to be evicted from his own property because your back rent has put him in debt?
This is the Democrat attitude: getting over.

There is nothing more corrupt and illegal than the government deciding that a certain group of people are not entitled to their legitimate income. Forcing landlords to pay the way for tenants even when those landlords destitute themselves. Our founders went to war over tea. This is far worse. Every politician involved in this illegal act should be stripped of everything they own an the money should go to the landlords.
How are they not in violation of:
“No state shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws ....”
Wonder when the Chinese Communist Party landholders will sweep in and buy up all these properties cheap.
The incoming situation depends entirely on who gets inaugurated on the 20th. If it is Trump, the Renter Homeless Crisis will be headline news. If it is Biden, no one will be allowed to suffer, not by avoiding homelessness, but by avoiding public acknowledgement of homelessness. (As a reminder, no one was homeless from 2009-2016 inclusive.)

I think we should all take a moratorium on paying income (state and fed), property and school district taxes. That should solve a lot of problems.
The petty dictators have been waging a war on the kulaks since March.
Not to mention the damage done to investment REITS in every pension and retirees portfolio.
The government forced enormous losses on others who depend on that income so that renters and mortgage holders could avoid their responsibilities.

I own an apartment in Maryland where the tenant’s lease expired at the end of October. She didn’t leave at the end of her lease and hasn’t made a payment since July. I knew I couldn’t evict her for nonpayment of rent prior to the expiration of her lease due to the nonpayment eviction moratorium, but figured I could at least evict her after her lease naturally terminated. So in November I filed for an eviction based on her status as a holdover tenant, in other words a squatter, figuring that like in the old days I would have a hearing in two weeks. It turns out my hearing on the eviction is scheduled for March 21. As a result, she will be able to stay in the property for at least five months after her lease expired without paying any rent. Sure, I will be able to have her evicted after the hearing and will get a judgment for the amount of unpaid rent, but she will file for bankruptcy and I will get nothing. The only adverse impact on her will be that her credit will be severely damaged.
Toss her and her stuff out the door and change the locks.
Full financial statements assessing renter’s ability to pay should be required. Hell, they do this for a utility bill.
