USA Today is on the warpath against high schools with so-called racially insensitive nicknames. In separate stories, USA Today pressured Red Mesa High School in Arizona to drop “Redskins” and Robstown Early College High School in Texas to replace the nickname “Cotton Pickers.”
There’s a big catch to these stories. Red Mesa is a predominantly Navajo school located on the Navajo Reservation. Located near the U.S.-Mexico border, Robstown is 94 percent Hispanic or Latino. Minorities quoted in the two stories are proud of their schools’ respective nicknames and resist politically correct efforts to erase them.

USA Today?
The power of the press.
Political correctness is for brain dead a**h*les!
A newspaper demands something, how rich with irony, better they search their own hearts and repent
If Cotton Pickers is somehow racist, then so is Cornhuskers, so the University of Nebraska football team must also change its name.
The only thing good USA Today ever produced was Baseball Weekly. Still miss it, and haven’t paid any attention to that paper since.
Unfortunately the school closed down in 2013 and the building was demolished.
If they were still operating today, it would be right on point for the times.
Fine, we’ll rename them the “Drunk-Ass Injuns” and the “Lazy F***n’ N**gers”.

It is a job
“The power of the press.”
The power of the presstitutes! There, fixed it.
Their weather page was pretty good as well in it’s day.
The comic book newspaper.
The white horse that gallops around the field whenever the USC Trojans score a touchdown is now in danger because its name is Traveler, as was the name of the white horse ridden by Robert E. Lee. And so is Tommy Trojan, the iconic statue of a Trojan warrior in the center of the campus, because it was modeled after a white student.
Millennials. Worst trend in journalism in a long time.

McPaper
I remember when Pekin Il. High school were the Chinks.
🤣
Actually, I’m being too harsh. Back in the 80s and early 90s they were probably the best national paper to pick up, especially when traveling. Much better than that monstrosity, the NYT, and I don’t mean in just their content but also the overall size of the paper. USA Today was short and readable — concise. And the presentation was always nice and colorful. Now they’ve been ruined, much like everything else.
And both readers of USA today agree.
USA Today are commies.
