Seems like there might be a bit of a problem with that. How would you like Harris to have that kind of power?
Pence, or any other VP is/does not choose the next president. They have the power to not accept a particular set of electors, after which debate occurs, during which evidence is presented to support the allegations of fraud.
The dems do it each election where a republican wins, but have not mounted a sufficient set of evidence to overturn.
In this case, Pence is actually doing his constitutional duty when he rejects a set of electors and their votes, which gives the whole body time to digest facts and then decide.
I have no problem with EVERY election being contested that is this close, and then hammer out the details to make sure no shenanigans have taken place.

BS, the only reason this strategy is being proposed is to ensure Pence can choose the next President. You are extremely naive to believe otherwise.
You’re not defending the Constitution. You’re defending the biggest violation of the Constitution in American history.
Really?
With all due respect, please go wash your face and have a good look into the mirror.
This strategy, as you say, has been used in every election where the dems lost in the recent past.
It is how we, Constitutionally, have a say regards the most important vote of the nation, (world) every four years.
If there are no steals, why so worried?
Pence is not going to wave a magic wand and pick Trump.
he is going to say (hopefully), there are discrepancies in this state's procedures, so we cannot accept their findings without further investigation.
What part of that is there a problem with?
>So now ones defense of the Constitution makes them a ‘liar for the uniparty’?
The only thing you’re defending is the perversion of the Constitution and of the US Code — uncoincidentally with the same talking point Romney et al. have been issued this day.

I have no problem with the procedure outlined because all it will produce is some smoke and flames, a two hour debate (probably in closed session in each house), and the certification of Biden as President.
What I do have a problem with is the belief that the VP should exercise this non-existant power and choose the next President.

So far, no court of the many who have considered this election has found in favor of Trump. Therefore, this does become an attack on the Constitution.
Even if true, currently there is only one slate of electors, either selected according to law or selected by the legislature itself, from all the states. So there is only one slate for Pence to choose from.
That’s true. Now he may view Trump as a usurper or something,
but that’s just silly.
There has been fraud discovered on a wide scale.
He should be awarded the “Ostrich of the Year Award”, if he goes against
Trump on this.
Yeah, good chance of it.
Good point.
To me, that sounds like the House of Reps will choose the president by each member of the House voting individually, not by state delegations.
“Vice President Pence would decide between competing slates of electors.”
This has been debunked many times as the pointed out by others here, the Constitution is clear that only the state legislatures have the power to appoint the electors and decide the manner in which they are appointed and none of the legislatures in any of the contested states have put forth a competing or replacement slate. Not one.
