Is it normal for private funds to pay election workers?
I had always thought it was voluntary or some sort of civic
function that local municipalities paid for.
Private payments can’t help but influence the workers. That
affects the vote. We can see it here.
Sounds like the whole system needs to be disinfected.
Yes. The (or a) sad thing is that this tech and power could so much more easily have been used to create a truly UNhackable setup that reallly would have let every eligible citizen participate.
In the end this is part of the hope ... the nation is ungovernable from DC unless we agree to let it be that way.
