I agree. I think that without bodycameras, the right thing to do is to assume the cops failed to follow protocol, broke several laws and should be liable for all charges.

Ten years ago, I would have taken the cops' word for it that they announced themselves loud enough. Now I know that some cops lie.

If you're ever on a jury, you can help to enforce that. For myself, I could never vote to convict in such a circumstance. Police need to become a part of civilized society again. If they want to act like an occupying army, we'll treat them as such.
