Ruh?
Welcome to FR.
Does that mean something? If so, what?
Hi.
Welcome to FR.
In the last hundred years the Chinese have not fared well in armed conflict. Japan, India, Viet Nam, even the Soviets have kicked their collective butts.
But remember, a cornered animal is very dangerous.

Say what you will, the RN does mount large daleks on their destroyers.
Does the embarked airing still include US Marine squadrons flying the F-35B? Or hs the RN stood up or has the RN stride up their own squadrons?
True, but if the Chinese want to make a point it’s probably better that they take a poke at the RN. I can imagine some form of navigational harassment to force the QE to cease air operations.
I doubt that there is a whole lot of part commonality between an RN Sea Harrier and a McDonnell-Douglas built AV-8B Harrier. See Canberra Bomber v. USAF B-57 Bomber where even the fasteners were different.
That said, there is a lot going on with private air force companies buying up serviceable foreign aircraft to play aggressor against USAF training exercises.
Correct that they are not the same aircraft, but apparently there is enough commonality for our DoD to swing the deal, and USMC maintainers I have spoken with verify that.
We also got all of the spare engines in their inventory.
Interesting take. Bkmrking you. As an open minded fellow but also extreme skeptic.
I would thing grabbing those engines at firesale prices made a lot of sense for the USMC.
I believe the UK was thinking, we’re a welfare state that can’t afford to be a welfare state, so we’ll slash defense and count on the blood and treasure of our American cousins to save the day. That’s the ticket. Part and parcel of EU-think. However, now that England is back to it’s shining independent self, we hope can expect a little less dole and a lot more defense.
The defence budget actually suffered less in the Osborne cuts than benefits. Defence lost 8%, some spending departments lost more than 40%.
