Newsom on vaccinations: ‘We may have overpromised a little bit in the short run’(Just a little white lie)

two weeks after the first shots began going into the arms of California’s highest-priority health care workers, about 300,000 people have been inoculated with the first of two doses of the vaccine. That is about 13% of the 2.4 million people in the first group scheduled to be inoculated in California. Earlier this month, federal health officials said most states would be able to complete vaccinations for health care workers within a few weeks.

“That we’ve already administered 300,000 doses is extraordinary,” Gov. Gavin Newsom said Wednesday during a Facebook Live talk with Dr. Anthony Fauci, head of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases. “But there’s been some frustration, a little bit of frustration — we may have overpromised a little bit in the short run about the availability and the distribution of vaccine.”

“He admits that we’re a bit behind, but he believes strongly in any massive undertaking like the initiation of a massive countrywide vaccination program, you’re going to get bumps in the road and some hiccups,” Fauci said. “He feels that as we get rolling we’ll be able to catch up. ... As we get into January, the feeling is we’re going to gain momentum to be able to catch up.”

Well isn't that just all a little bit inconvenient for the people you have imprisoned in Managed Care Facilities?

Their families and friends who have been prevented from visiting their mother, father, friend etc as if they are death row inmates?

I guess CA isn’t getting the funds to get the job done for them.

Wait. If 300,000 doses in 2 weeks is “extraordinary” that means to vaccinate all of CA at 150,000 doses a week it would take 266 weeks to vaccinate all 40 million Californians or 22 years.

Newsom is a putrid statist who has no conscience, no moral compass, and no loyalty to liberty.

Notice how Fauci sides with Newsom and criticizes Trump over the very same issue. With Newsom, the delays are normal “bumps in the road” for an unprecedented effort, but with Trump it’s “we should have done better” or some other negative spin.

It would take about 5 years.

They should just use the flu vaccination system they have. The flu has miraculously been cured anyhow.

Ooops........I should have seen that. 5 years is a bit more reasonable, but still ludicrous since the virus will have mutated several times over by then, making it no different than any other flu season. I’m 75, and have never gotten a flu vaccine, and never will. Why should I play around with my own natural immune system if it seems to be working ok?

I make mistakes like that once in a while. No big deal.

Still, a five year vaccination timeline is not workable.

I do believe vaccinations will blossom out considerably
though. If we look at the influenza vaccination timelines,
I suspect we’d see massive numbers of doses of that given
in mere months.

Take care.

Sorry. I divided weeks by 12 thinking of year and screwed it up. So now I’m even happier, the lockdown will end in a little over 5 years instead of 22. That’s something to be happy about, right?
