At least 145 employees of a Washington state Costco have been infected with COVID-19, county health officials announced Tuesday, according to a report.

The outbreak at the store in Union Gap could worsen, officials said, as testing of workers continues, KOMO news reported.

“As Costco continues its site-wide testing, we anticipate the number of cases to continue to go up over the next few days as results are received,” Melissa Sixberry, Yakima County’s director of disease control, told the outlet.

All those Chinese products coming off the ships.....

Isn’t it amazing that Wuhan has no mask requirement nor lockdowns....and no vaccine....while nations all over the world are on their second, third wave of the virus?

Hmm. I thought that Costco is among the most aggressive companies requiring face masks and warehouse work generally doesn’t require close contact. But still the transmission rate is 40% among employees.

Are masks really filthy ‘petri dishes’ that spread the virus?

It seems like this virus is highly contagious. Lots of people dying from it, while many others have severe health consequences short of death. I’m going to continue trying to avoid it until I get vaccinated against it.

Remember folks:

"Outbreak" means they finally got around to testing the people in a given location, and enough identifiable virus particles were found in the people who have been carrying them around for up to 10 months to call each of them a "NEW CASE!!1!" and the group if them an "OUTBREAK ONOES WE'RE ALL DEAD".

“Their strict mask policy is really working well!”

In my area SC the the so call “strict mask policy” is not enforce. There is really no such thing, just some words on a sticker or poster. I see about 30 percent of shoppers without a mask and another 10% with the mask half way on.

Do they count the positive COVID test results like they count the vote?

Who really knows if their are 145 cases at the Costco or is it another Deep State scam?

NYS counts probables in with positives, repeat positives of the same patient as new cases, and won’t release any info about the cycle threshold/s used to determine positivity.

We know the stats are crap in NYS.

Bet they are in all 50.

I, on the other hand, am going to do my best to let the rest of the world guinea-pig this vaccine aganst a virus which, if it makes you sick, has a 99.97% survival rate.

In part, but not totally, because the true death rate is one per person. The number one cause of death is birth, and this has already happened to you; you're doomed. You may survive 2021, but you will not likely survive the 21st century.

So, like the man said, "get busy living, or get busy dying."

I’ve noticed employees ditch the masks and social distancing when they are on break.

Union Gap is Yakima. Lots of Hispanics. The Hispanic community is way more social than others. Especially with 3 families in a home/apartment. Plus the men are “macho” and pay no concern to masks or hygiene.

Between the Hispanics working at Costco, and the Hispanic families that have three generations along to wander the aisles, there is a lot of close contact. (In the Seattle area it is the three generations of Asians and Indians that wander the aisles).

And with the Hispanics - lots of “loud talkers”. I read one article that the “loud talkers” are more apt to spread it. (Makes sense).

I would also add that at least Suffolk Co. in NYS adds antibody positive tests to the daily new case count. That of course skews the newer daily counts.
