The majority of cadets caught cheating on a math test at the West Point military academy are athletes — including two dozen members of the Army football team playing West Virginia in Thursday’s Liberty Bowl.
Of the 24 Army Black Knights embroiled in the scandal, 17 remained in uniform as of Wednesday — and a few have already played in games this season, USA Today reported.
They remain on the team because West Point Superintendent Lt. Gen. Darryl Williams suspended the school’s policy of barring cadets who violate the academy’s honor code from representing the school in public.
The honor code is engraved in a monument at the Hudson River front school: “A cadet will not lie, cheat, steal, or tolerate those who do.”
In all, 55 of the 73 cadets caught cheating on the May calculus test at the upstate New York school are members of sports teams and squads at the academy in the largest cheating scandal there in 44 years.
The test was administered online because of social-distancing restrictions due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
In 1976, 153 cadets were caught cheating on a mechanical engineering exam.

Looks like Navy is gonna win next year.
Penn State kept a coach that looked the other way to child rape. Florida State had a QB hat (allegedly) raped a coed.

ESPN - turn the sound off. LOOK at them. LOL.
“Under academy policy, cadets found guilty of cheating would not have been allowed to play on sports teams after Nov 30, the date they were found in violation of the code.
But in an Oct. 23 memo, Williams wrote that the policy “resulted in an inequitable application of consequences and developmental opportunities” for some cadets.”
Inequitable = Social Justice code word. The woke guy in charge is a commie lib. They all should have been thrown out of the academy, period. Wtf? No wonder our military leadership is so risk adverse. And pussies.
Would you hold my wallet while I take the test?
There’s a $1000 in there. Or maybe there isn’t. Know what I mean?
We’re not recruiting for the Boy Scouts!
Won’t you gentlemen have a Pepsi?
Two Pepsis to go.
Football players taking mechanical engineering ?
Yes, and yes. These cheaters have to be about the dumbest guys out there...or arrogant and stupid thinking they’d get away with it.
They get tutors for everything, and special classes dumbed down so that they can ‘pass’ through the system. They are feted like rock stars because Army is winning a few football games. They are not there to become Commissioned Officers...they are there to play sports and pursue their own goals, while checking the Diversity box the army is desperate fill.
Then there is this:
This officer received a taxpayer funded degree from West Point, while playing Intercollegiate soccer. She was Commissioned in 2016.
Then:
“She had set her sights on applying to a combat career field. But an ankle surgery sidelined her after graduation, limiting her in any strenuous physical activity.”
“She recently served as the military aide to Maj. Gen. Scott Efflandt, a deputy commanding general of III Corps at Fort Hood, Texas.”
“Rozzi also competed with the U.S. Armed Forces Women’s Soccer team at the World Military Games in Wuhan, China, in October.”
So, in her 4 year career, she attended her Basic Officer Course (while injured I presume), but not injured enough to play on the Army soccer team, and serve as an ADC (which along with the WP ring will guarantee at least LTC for her). Likely, she checks another protected snowflake box or two as well.
What I’d like to know is: How long was she an actual Tank Platoon Leader? How were her own/Platoon Gunnery scores? From the article, she was a fit athlete, but from the photographs she does not appear capable of actually performing basic tank maintenance (breaking track, dropping the breech block, punching the gun tube, etc...) which means she would not really learn the job, and would be a liability to the other 3 crewmembers.
All of this in an article written by the army, trumpeting “progress”. Yeah...no. The Emperor has no clothes, and our military is in trouble.
lol
We are now Third World in everything. Get used to it.
Don’t blame this all on woke.
This is a lot about $$ and more $$.
And it’s about white dudes in power giving mostly black but also white athletes a pass because the football industry is just that in colleges, an industry.
Woke is part of it. It’s FAR from all of it.

Disgusting.
It would be interesting to know how they got caught cheating. Why didn’t the reporter ask?
Do you mean, "but not so injured that she couldn't play?"
Regards,
Spare me the ring knockers. A common complaint.
“Football players taking mechanical engineering?”
That’s why Army and Navy were so weak in football for so long. They wouldn’t admit athletes who had no chance of academic success.
Now they do.
They all made the same error on a problem in the same way. That tipped off the instructors that something was afoot.
When asked they all confessed to the cheating.
Math is hard.
The rot is deep.
I can hear the progressive rumblings now:
- Blame it on the ChiCom Virus pandemic. The rigors of remote learning and having to take an on-line exam placed too great a strain on these future officers which then encouraged them to cheat. They might even be suffering PTSD (Post Test Stress Disorder).
- Blame it on the faculty. They did not know how to teach and test in a remote learning environment.
- Blame it on the Academy. As an institution it failed to recognize (and take corrective action) that some cadets suffer from developmental hardships. The resultant lack of early learning opportunities has a direct correlation to their ability to comprehend the importance of honor and integrity.
