At 37 yrs old Webb well could have been closing in on a 20 year Army retirement at 50% of his base pay for life, plus a considerable list of other military related benefits. Anyone who thinks defending our nation is a waste of time ought to, at the very least, be grateful that other men and women consider it an honor.
