As one of ten children growing up in extreme poverty in Greensboro, NC, Mark Robinson has defied a lot of odds in life: an alcoholic and abusive father, foster-care stints, and an overwhelmed single mother.
After joining the Army Reserves right out of high school, he married and had two children while drifting through various jobs making furniture, a profession that kept evaporating as each plant he worked for relocated to Mexico.
In 2018, he attended Greensboro’s city council meeting to voice his frustration over the town’s decision to ban a local gun show, and found himself giving an off-the-cuff yet deeply impassioned speech. Despite not owning a gun at the time, Robinson argued for four minutes in defense of the Second Amendment and ended up garnering national attention. This year, with few resources and no electoral experience, Robinson became the first black lieutenant governor-elect of North Carolina.

Great candidate. If the elite country club globalist Republicans would take notice Robinson proved:
1) A black GOP candidate can win running as an unashamed conservative
2) It doesn’t take big money
3) Pro life and pro 2nd amendment are popular with the public.
4) The electorate responds to passion, conviction, and authenticity not slick public relations soundbites.
5) North Carolina isn’t blue yet but it will be if the GOP follows the Virginia roadmap.
He may not do it because Robinson would move up to gubbernor and the demonRATs really do not want that to happen.
It will depend on the make up of the US Senate in 2022 and the situation with Trump.
Rs did very well in NC this year; Tillis was reelected over an ex-military guy, who although a complete phony, was the favorite, Robinson won Lt. Gov, and Rs picked up two seats on the NC Supreme Court, formerly 6-1 D, now 4-3 with the R candidate for Chief Justice, a fine man named Newby, winning the CJ slot by 400 votes.
If we could afford to lose a Senate seat, which we can’t, Burr would b e the one to flush.

If Democrat Cal Cunningham had kept his zipper closed, Tillis would be packing up his office this week. Tillis is a pure swamp creature. Tillis will serve the desires of the donor class and the establishment for the next 5 years, just as he did after he was elected the first time. Then, in the last year of his term he will suddenly give lip service to serving the people, just as he did in 2020.
Robinson appears to be a real conservative. Hopefully he will not compromise principles to raise the money needed to run for governor in 2024. Unfortunately most white knight citizens who run for office are corrupted quickly by the party establishment and the need to raise big money.
Of course. Jessie Helms never won any landslides but he did not get elected and reelected because he was a RINO.
This guy Robinson is an unashamed conservative. Tillis could take a few solid pointers from him.
