In MI the taxes on a 250K house can be 5-7K a year, a farm can be 10X that or more.

Public transportation subsidies are a minor fraction of the hundreds of billions of dollars in subsidies every year to American agriculture.

“Public transportation subsidies are a minor fraction of the hundreds of billions of dollars in subsidies every year to American agriculture.”

Total direct aid to farmers is about 32 billion, and Trump had doubled the O’bastard budget.

The budget for Amtrak(which nobody uses) alone is 2 billion.

Everybody eats, but damn few use pubic transportation.

don't worry.....TPTB will come up with huge tax increases to save the buses, trains etc because you know if we didn't have these public services, it would harm the minorities and disabled and elderly disproportionately....LOL

even before covid, we had the hinged buses riding around completely empty....empty...

And just about everyone relies on work and services performed by people who use public transportation. You want them to all drive cars instead? Then double their pay so they can afford cars and raise taxes to expand road capacity. Or maybe you want more of them stuck at home, unemployed, and on welfare.
