Promises are easy and make everyone feel good. Just ask Michael Scott.
She ran out of other people’s money.
Voting has been completed. Time to renege on the promises to get those votes.
The free money tree wasn’t properly watered
Why give away free college, when, the Sniffer is going to do it for you?
Exactly - no longer need the useful idiots!
The “free college” program in NY involved a variation on indentured servitude, where recipients had to remain in the state for one year after graduation for each year of “free” tuition; it was clearly designed to stop the flight of young English speakers from the state. The “servitude” comes in when you realize that in an expensive state like NY, you wouldn’t be loafing around for a few years waiting to flee; you’d have to work a job in the McJob economy to survive.
“ Voting has been completed. Time to renege on the promises to get those votes.”
Democrat voters forgive this. Biden would never follow through with free college. It’s probably like suitcases full of ballots late at night during the election
It’s all fine as long as the democrat gets into office.
Biden is already claiming that he never promised that
The voters who want him in office don’t care about this lie any more than they care that his media based president-elect status is as phony as a knock off rolex.
‘Hol up... they were going to use the money from oil profits to pay for it???!!!
But oil is evil, right?
They can’t have it both ways- killing off fossil fuel companies (which leads to oil profits) AND wanting to not pay for college.
Gee, maybe they can get the Sun or the Wind to pay for their useless degrees.
That’s right. Just ask 15,000 illegal aliens who got state money.
They will probably give free college only to illegal aliens.
Unless they are illegals, then they get the free tuition.
Nothing new there.
When I was headed to college in 1970, New Jersey had a program that provided a substantial grant toward college tuition, but the condition was that after getting the degree, you either had to work for the State for a few years, or pay off the grant money in a few years. A buddy of mine used that grant to go to MIT, after which he worked briefly for NJ, then got a higher paying job and paid off the grant.
Not exactly the same as NY, but the same idea.
The money came from fracking. The free tuition won’t happen. Wyoming used to have such a program funded by coal money. Don’t know if it still exists after the big os anti coal program.
Back in the 70s when I worked on earthmovers I remember going to those strip mines in Montana and Wyoming. Incredible amounts of coal not far below the surface and easy to scarf off. One railroad car after another heading out all day and night long.
It’s a promise the rats can make every election and the idiot yutes will fall for it every time.
I bet a few students waited to start school until this was implemented. Where are the sob stories of the poor Hispanic who was dreaming of a free education but the mean Democrats screwed him.
