TCHAIKOVSKY: “THE NUTCRACKER”This ballet was a failure in Pete’s day. It was not until after his death that it became a Christmas classic all over the world. This is the complete ballet, not the suite, a 1993 production from the New York City Ballet.The drama all occurs in the first act, while the second act is there to show off the dancers’ chops. It’s not a dramatic success, but it’s redeemed by a superior score.Tchaikovsky: “The Nutcracker”
