No matter what happens, one thing is for sure: there will be no “clean bill” passed into law.
The President wants a standalone $2000 bill, with nothing else. All Pelosi did was keep the same pork and change the $600 stimulus to $2000. That’s not what Trump asked for and it’s why McCarthy rightfully blocked it. It’s amazing how Congress cannot accomplish simple tasks and insist on “comprehensive” bills to hide their pork payouts to special interest groups.

As someone who has spent far too many years pontificating on Free Republic, I generally see that the FReepers who get fooled are the first ones to post a comment.
Then, the ‘some who get it’ weigh in to set the record straight.
Kevin McCarthy is not perfect, but we have been so much better off with him as the Republican House Leader than we were under the leadership of Paul Ryan and John ‘crybaby’ Boehner.
For weeks now we have been assuming that the House Democrats will vote 100% for Biden on January 6th and there will be absolutely zero defectors.
Pelosi only has a 5 or 6 majority in the House beginning January 3rd when the new Congress is sworn in.
I know it would be a long shot, but we should never say never as to there being some House Democrat defectors on Jan 6th.

Except the $2000 gambit also contained all the pork, did it not? Correct me if I’m wrong, but I just see the $2000 “cave” by pelosi, as a move to entice Trump to sign a disastrous bill. Especially since she acquiesced so quickly. There must be a number of things in that bill that we, as conservatives, would NEVER want.

Their name should be changed from the US Congress to the "Congress For Giving Away US Taxpayers Monies To Foreign Entities". They even screw that up.
It's best that nothing happened than passing that bloated pork package for foreigners and a few meager crumbs for the suffering American people. I would have saluted Trump if he had vetoed it.
Like my soft-spoken wife says (she's ex-military, conservative and a 100% Trump supporter but not political), "Drop a nuke on DC and get rid of the whole bunch and start over."
