The 2nd amendment foundation pointed out that there is no penalty in the law for not deleting the FBI background check as required. I never believed that they would get rid of background check data. I always thought they would just ignore the law or they would make copies for "training purposes" and then fully comply with deleting the originals or any number of games that allow them to lie about keeping the data. Many states allow private sales without a background check.
