New York Mayor Bill de Blasio mocked Fox News’s coverage of remarks he made last week in which he said he sees “redistribut[ing] wealth” as part of his mission in overseeing the city's education system.
Addressing underserved neighborhoods in the city and those hardest-hit by the coronavirus pandemic and its economic fallout, de Blasio said in a Monday briefing “we’ve got to right the wrong by making them the priority. So that’s what we will be doing as we go into 2021, as we go into the next school year.”
De Blasio said the network “apparently was very interested” in his Friday remarks on redistribution. “I’m going to say it one more time in case Fox News is watching again: ‘NYC mayor sees the redistribution of wealth as an important factor toward ending structural racism in education,’ ” de Blasio said, quoting the Fox News headline.
“Exactly right. I don’t get to say it very often, but Fox News got it exactly right. Amen,” de Blasio said. “We are going to fight structural racism through redistribution, so Fox News, congratulations, fair and balanced coverage right there.”
“If we think we’re going to deal with structural racism and segregation without redistribution of wealth, we’re kidding ourselves,” the mayor added. “Nothing changes unless you put the resources behind it.”
He said undeserving, not underserved

I wonder where you could find a black person who emigrated from the United States to Russia during the ‘30s so he could tell the mayor and the rest of us about how Lenin and Stalin solved those sorts of problems. Bit of a tough proposition as I read that most (if not all of them) were marched into labour camps and died there.
pretty sure he was fraudulently elected....there are lots of hard working nose to the dirty grindstone people even in NYC and I don’t think they would put up with shinola.
At least the term limit law won’t let him run again in 2021. They will also have ranked choice jungle primaries, so we’ll see if this system yields someone who is not as horrible.

It will be an interesting experiment as we watch it fail spectacularly.....
The only question is how catastrophic the damage will be, it will be played out on the biggest stage possible given it’s NYC, The Big Apple....the biggest media market in the world and the home of the financial capital of the world....
(As for New York City coming back - some are saying it will be 3-5 years. I think 300-500 years, if ever. The demographics have changed since Giuliani was elected. Nobody who is capable of being elected mayor now will be able to reverse the decline.)

I have worked in NYC and surrounding environs for 30+ years. Conservatives in the city proper are outnumbered at least 2:1 and this guy won last time with 70+ %. Unfortunately, he was elected because that's what the overwhelming percentage of New Yorkers wanted. Unfortunately, many New Yorkers are leaving for lower tax Red States because of idiots like him and Cuomo. And most unfortunately for the Red State residents these morons didn't learn their lesson and continue to vote liberal Democrat and flip traditionally Red States to Purple and then eventually Blue States. Yes, I am talking about you Georgia.
