It’s hard to find a group anywhere with a lower approval rating than these turds.

So we will see if any senator has the stones to stand up for what is right, or do they love power and money more than the USA.

..The Last Word: We have Historical Precedents<<<

The Senate and House will meet in a joint session on Jan. 6... What happens that day will determine the outcome of the presidential election.

Somewhere there’s video of VP Biden presiding in 2017, telling various objectors to stuff it unless it’s in writing and properly signed.

If (Big if) the House of Representatives does indeed get to select the president, the Constitution allows the Senate to choose the vice president.

Imagine the possibilities. President Biden. Vice President Trump.

I desperately want this to be true - but there is a problem with the logic here.

The good news:

In order to force a vote in the two chambers, only one Representative and one Senator need object to a given state’s electors. Representative Mo Brooks and Senator Rand Paul have each signaled their intentions to meet that minimum requirement in their respective chambers. A few others may join them in objecting. So forcing a vote is extremely likely.

The bad news:

If there are only one or two brave congressmen from each chamber who are brave enough to make an objection, what makes us believe a majority of the Legislators will support these objections when it comes to a full vote?

Even if they vote along party lines, the Democrats still hold a majority in the House of Representatives. Does anyone really believe there are Democrats who will vote with the Republicans to toss out contested Biden electors?

In the Senate, Mitch McConnell has already urged Republican Senators not to object to Biden electors, because [paraphrasing] “doing so will put the GOP in the difficult position of having to vote the objections down, sadly giving the appearance that we don’t support the President.”

The real hope of “stopping the steal“ is with the legislators of the contested states, which have the sole power to decertify. These are Republican majorities, and yet their GOP leaderships are dodging their responsibility. They are each finding various pretexts for not considering decertification. In several cases, the state legislatures are even claiming they are not allowed to hold a special session without the Governor’s OK - which is absurd.
