Absolutely. Most of the shooters I know are buying ammo whenever it is available, regardless of whether they need it currently or not. You can't keep it on the shelves precisely because you have people dedicated to buying it as soon as it appears on the those shelves (actual or virtual).

Most new shooters, in fact I’ll say most shooters will just buy the gun and maybe a few hundred rounds of ammo. Shoot their new toy once or twice and lock it up forever.
How many hardcore shooters are there out there like me who plink one thousand rounds a month?
I know cops don’t even do that by a long shot.
