Much truth in what you say. She has a srong evolutionary drive to mate with an alpha male and bear his children. Still try to imagine what this woman will be like in twenty years when she is no longer fertile.
Many men feel compelled to take on a Beta-type of personality – you know: to attract women.
Meanwhile, many people are actually attracted to Alpha-type males.
Many men consider themselves to be Alphas, but are, in fact, just jerks. (Donald Trump is an Alpha, and he is not a jerk, so those guys are out there. But a lot of so-called “Alphas” are fairly despicable people.)
So you get a lot of Beta males sitting at home with no girlfriend, playing video games and watching pron.
You get a lot women chasing jerks and growing old and getting bitter about all the good men being taken.
You get a lot of jerks who put up a front of being Alphas and who successfully take advantage of lots of women.
You get some Alpha men and some sensible women connecting and being happy. This last group is a heck of a lot smaller than it ought to be.
Civilization is based on the need to keep a lid on this female drive.
In pre-civilized societies (in which I include Islamic societies and our welfare ghettos), the women want the strong Alpha males, leaving the Beta males without wives. The Betas are left without a reason to work to provide for a family, and without motivation to hold up their civilization.
In civilized societies, the Alphas are told "You get ONE woman. She may be the prettiest one, but you have to settle for ONE, and publicly reject all others."
This leaves women for the rest of the men, who then have a reason to work hard, build a career, have children with some assurance that they are biologically theirs, and otherwise support civilization. But it leaves many women feeling unfulfilled, and dreaming after the strong Alpha, and reading "romance novels" and fantasizing about rugged pirate captains.
