The pastor in our church when I was a kid in the 1950s had a doctorate in theology and was called “Dr.”

Maya Angelou wasn’t a medical doctor, either. She wasn’t even a PhD, EdD or any other kind of academic. She called herself “Dr Maya Angelou” based on having been awarded an honorary doctor of letters by some liberal college. I suspect King didn’t insist on calling himself “Dr King,” or insist that others do so in the way jill and her flunkies are doing.

Face it, if it comes from the left, and once had any meaning or substance before being co-opted by the left, it’s now meaningless.

Chris Wallace talks about her title when everything is a dumpster fire. What a POS tool.

I graduated with a degree from supposedly one of the Top Five law schools, not that that means anything. Upon graduation, my father noted the “JD” on my diploma for “Juris Doctor” and said “well, now we can call you “Dr.”. I responded, “and if you get sick, you probably don’t want to call me but find a real doctor”. Frankly, I never heard of a lawyer, even the most pompous ones, of which there are many, call themselves “Dr” and their education is far more extensive than “Doctor” Jill Biden’s.

Jill Biden assumes/projects herself more than what she is. She indulges in self-idolization through public lecturer, posture and pose. Be it by feigning in the practice of illusory medical expertise or believing she is a doctor of anything that will satisfy her childish ego.

Okay... I meant to say in a word, she’s a ‘FRAUD.’

So glad I no longer watch Fox News. Years before quitting cold turkey I would usually turn the channel every time Wall-ass came on.

A ghost writer will write a book for her, and it’ll sit atop the charts when Biden-backing Corporations and Publishing houses buy it in bulk and give them away as Dumpster Trinkets.

Then the Media will call her, Best Selling author, award winning mother, Dr. Jill ....

Anyone believe this is not going to happen?

I don’t disagree.

In academic settings is is not uncommon for “Professors” to be referred to as “doctor.” Outside of those settings some are called doctor and some are not. I have referred to Thomas Sowell, the late great Walter Williams, and my former professors as “doctor”. I suppose in some ways it is an honorific more than anything.

I must admit that it has been funny even if it is not really worth the ink spilled.

The “thesis” was a very revealing and chilling look into the thought process and cognitive ability of someone who may be one of the most powerful people in the world. That is concerning.

Michelle Obama’s academic work was dreadful, but I don’t think she had nearly the influence on Obama that Jill has on Joe.

Does Chris Wallace give Dr. Ben Carson - an actual medical doctor - his title? If not, he can take his smarm and shove it up his butt.

Martin Luther King is the greatest martyr known to the civil rights cause

His I have a dream speech in 1963 is unparalleled in the modern history of the United States

It’s up there with the Roosevelts “there is no fear but fear itself”

And Kennedy’s speech about going to the moon

All human beings have their foibles; and beautiful women are often involved in those foibles!

The most important point and I’ve seen giant billboard so this effect of that Martin Luther King was a staunch Republican

Frederick Douglass had no formal education, and yet he was one of the most brilliant, iconic figures in American history. Neither Jill Biden nor Martin Luther King was fit to even tie that man’s shoes.

From an October 11, 1991 NYT article:

“A committee of scholars appointed by Boston University concluded today that the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr. plagiarized passages in his dissertation for a doctoral degree at the university 36 years ago.

“There is no question,” the committee said in a report to the university’s provost, “but that Dr. King plagiarized in the dissertation by appropriating material from sources not explicitly credited in notes, or mistakenly credited, or credited generally and at some distance in the text from a close paraphrase or verbatim quotation.”

Despite its finding, the committee said that “no thought should be given to the revocation of Dr. King’s doctoral degree,” an action that the panel said would serve no purpose.

But the committee did recommend that a letter stating its finding be placed with the official copy of Dr. King’s dissertation in the university’s library.”

There are doctorates in all sorts of fields including some lightweight fields. I believe getting a PhD in education is nothing like getting a PhD in physics.

A doctorate in a technical field such as engineering, physics, etc is a big deal. I took many masters level electrical engineering courses and got a first hand taste of it. Multiple choice tests with perhaps 5 questions that took 2 hours to complete — (a 0.0053; b 0.0057, etc show your work). The PE exam for electrical engineering was 8 hours and open book - bring anything you want. :-)

I have worked with many PhDs and the ones I have known were usually quite impressive. But we all have different experiences.

Having said all that - Jill Biden’s EdD in education is not much to tout. Her EdD dissertation was “Student Retention at the Community College Level: Meeting Students’ Needs” which is a joke. For her to make a big deal of it is a bit of an insult to those who put in serious effort to attain a PhD in a technical field.
