“Fox News Sunday” anchor Chris Wallace said on this week’s broadcast of his program that the “fuss” over Jill Biden’s title of “doctor” had not been applied to “Dr. Henry Kissinger, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King.”
Wallace said, “There has been some criticism recently from conservatives, including some conservatives on Fox News about the fact that First Lady-to-be Jill Biden goes by the title doctor. I wonder what is the Biden’s reaction to that, especially given the fact that so many people over the years — I think of Dr. Henry Kissinger, the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King have gone by the title doctor, even though they’re not medical doctors and nobody seems to have made a fuss about that.”

I don’t think Kissinger and King should be called Doctor either.
Please do not equate The Reverend King with Jill Biden. He had a doctorate in theology from seminary and regardless of his personal foibles was extremely well educated.
I’d have to look back quite a way to see. We know china joe did in ‘88 with some of his speeches. But he’s all better now apparently.

MLK didn’t go around letting people think he was a medical doctor. Jill Biden certainly has.

If you refuse to watch MSNBC or CNN because you dont want to listen to people who talk like Chris Wallace, why would you watch Fox and listen to Chris Wallace himself talk like Chris Wallace?
Or why would you watch Tucker or Laura and give Fox the ratings that pay Chris Wallace’s salary?

People use “Doctor” to secularize the Reverend King’s religious training in seminary. And it’s annoying because conservatives have found it fashionable too to dilute his reputation and know next to nothing of his education or his lesser known writings. He was NOT some major libertarian conservative but he was not a Marxist or leftist either. And Charlton Heston marched with him asking with thousands of truly faithful Christians.

i don’t think the “Dr” thing flies if you read any of her “dissertation.” that wouldn’t have flown in my 8th grade classes. so count me out. she’s no intellectual.
