CFP executive director issues statement on Rose Bowl

The Rose Bowl has been a major topic of discussion this week, with one of the College Football Playoff Semifinals scheduled to be played there. Due to local COVID-19 restrictions, the game would have to be played without any fans in attendance, including the families of the players.

If the playoff rankings remained the same, Notre Dame would be one of the teams playing in the Rose Bowl, but maybe not if head coach Brian Kelly has anything to say about it. On Monday, Kelly ranted against the idea that the Irish would play in a semifinal without their loved ones there to watch. Shortly thereafter, College Football Playoff Executive Director Bill Hancock gave a statement to Pete Thamel of Yahoo Sports about the status of this year’s Rose Bowl.

“We are continuing to monitor the circumstances in California and want the state to allow the players’ families to attend the game,” Hancock told Thamel.

Kelly shredded the College football Playoff for even weighing the idea of playing football games in locations where zero fans would be allowed to attend.

"Maybe they need to spend a little less time on who the top 4 teams are and find a way to let parents see their kids play,” Kelly said, via David Hale of ESPN. “It is an absolute shame — and a sham — if parents can watch their kids play."

Ha! No one wants to go to Newsom’s shutdown state. Not even for a few days!

Let’s just forget about it all . . . . bring on the intramural programs throughout the country. “Collegiate” sports has nothing to do with academics anyway and considering how unpatriotic the players are becoming. . . good riddance.

The Commies in Commiefornia hate football. They loathe competition in general. The ND coach needs to be doxed and silenced for daring to question Comrade Newsome. After all, what is more important, a football game or control of the masses????

Note: no need for sarcasm alert because, in the eyes of the radical lefties, every single word is true.

If no fans, the event should be moved to the citrus bowl in Orlando. There is no point to have one of the three championship games in that environment. It’s a loser for the fans, players, universities and TV.

Kelly only killed one kid. Newsome has presided over the deaths of thousands.

This whole season is a sham. Whoever wins the Championship it should be with an asterisk.
