it’s not unknown here in L A to have field hospitals set out during flu season. of course i’m not sure how much of this is flu and how much is covid.

Not unusual during flu season. Perfectly normal. And hospitals WANT the ICU at or very near capacity. That’s where they make the most $$$. They are designed to be that way.

I have also heard first hand of this from some friends in medical that there is less a problem of beds and more a problem of staff who are burnt out and quitting, despite the wages they are offering.
Note how the paragraph is structured. It says it's the largest number of deaths "since the pandemic began," but doesn't specify which deaths were DUE to the "pandemic."

I just heard that Placer County, which does not have many illegal aliens, now is at 0 available ICU beds.
I heard that hospitals get something like $35k from we taxpayers for every COVID patient they take in. Can anyone verify that? If so then everything from measles to cancer has probably been purposely misdiagnose as COVID.

It’s a crafty, clever virus. It knows about the Santa Clara County / San Mateo County county line. You cannot eat outdoors in Santa Clara County, but cross the county line and you are just fine eating outdoors in San Mateo County.
I haven’t seen any huge filters erected at the county line keeping the virus out, so I can only assume it is one smart bug.

So we’ve had the COVID crisis almost a year...and California has not increased their ICU capacity yet...why not?
