Days after electors voted to make it official that Joe Biden is president-elect, and one day after Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-Ky.) congratulated Biden on his victory, Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) said at a congressional hearing that the election "in many ways was stolen."
"The fraud happened. The election in many ways was stolen and the only way it will be fixed is by in the future reinforcing the laws," Paul said during a hearing with testimony from Christopher Krebs, the president's former cybersecurity chief, who was fired by Trump after he reported there was no interference in the election.
Paul made the remarks as Krebs, wearing a mask, looked on skeptically, his arms crossed in front of his chest.
The remarks were notable because Paul is seen as one of the senators who might join a bid by Rep. Mo Brooks (R-Ala.) to challenge the election's outcome and overturn the results in several states, despite a series of court decisions that have rejected claims of widespread fraud as unsubstantiated.
Doing so would disenfranchise hundreds of thousands of voters, and the Supreme Court, now dominated by conservative justices including three nominated to the court by President Trump, rejected a suit from the attorney general of Texas just last week to do so.
Just one GOP senator would need to back Brooks to force the House and Senate to hold debates and votes on the results at a Jan. 6 session. McConnell urged Republicans not to do so during a call Tuesday, and several GOP senators have now said they will not do so.
But Paul has a history of bucking his party and his comments at a Wednesday hearing will raise some eyebrows, though he appeared more focused on passing laws moving forward that would target fraud.
After Krebs reasserted his view that the election had been free of foreign or domestic interference, Paul said because the election was safe did not mean there were no rules broken.
“To say it was the safest election, sure I agree with your statement if you are referring to foreign intervention, but if you are saying it’s the safest election based on no dead people voted ... no people broke the absentee rules, I think that is false and I think that’s what’s upset a lot of people on our side is that they are taking your statement to mean there, oh there were no problems in the election, I don’t think you examined any of the problems we heard here, so really you are just referring to something differently the way I look at it," Paul said.

Thought mitch might be ok the way he stood up for Trump during the impeachment and keeping everyone in line with the voting on judges.

I think Rand seeing scalise get shot didn’t scare him, I think it strengthen his resolve. Also the crazed neighbor did the same thing. Ron Paul was stubborn, I think his son takes after him.

Understanding how this election was seemingly stolen via
Dominion software and/or other software programs.
This is clearly seen in some of the small counties data that
almost always vote for heavily for President Trump.
This ‘Capping’, however, did NOT occur in many Biden
stronghold Counties such as Wayne County. Obviously, it
seems real proof of a large, coordinated VOTER FRAUD scheme.
I hope Trump spends next four years campaigning and grooming replacements for Mitch and the rest of the RINO COWARDS. Dear Rand - How about dealing with and righting the wrongs that have occurred, by enforcing the Constitution and statutory laws that already exist? If today’s laws aren’t any good to enforce NOW, why bother with tomorrow? You have already shown that election laws aren’t worth enforcing. Yeh... sure, let the politicians “fix” the law, afterall it appears that politicians are expert at fixing elections. “Sorry Mr Trump, we know that the 2020 election was rigged and “fixed” (stolen from you and especially the voters) and you are the rightful winner. For the “good of the country”, you (your voters) need to accept the fraud and let Buyden be POTUS now. But we promise we will get right to work and fix the election system so these very very very bad things never never ever happen again. Thanks for your help in and understanding, and giving up any rights you have to contest the election through January 20th.”

How can one be assured we can trust the vote count for any election - primary or general?
How can one be assured that the “news” won’t be censored?
We have some real problems here Tony that aren’t going away, and won’t be fixed. They will probably get worse. Heck, Supreme Court won’t back voter id laws now.
I believe Rand will not let Trump down. I think it’s 50/50 whether he contests this or not.
Thought Cruz would also be most likely to object.
All of these Republican Senators were talking about how we need to fix this “in the future.” It was very disheartening.
We all know it never gets fixed if it doesn’t happen *right now*
