Something was posted last night on FR that said John Roberts was screaming at the other justices that SCOTUS didn’t want to be responsible for riots, and that the junior justices need to “remember their place” or something along that line.

perception is everything and that's the way it would have been played by the media and people would have bought it.

At some point we have to not be cowed by "how the media would play it". Trump's successes, muted as they have been, came because he generally disregarded how the media played it, or better, goaded them and anticipated the response. They have adjusted their approach the last couple of years and have developed the discipline to just not report in general. Now Facebook, YouTube and Twitter are piling on being quite explicit about it. Compare the treatment that "Project Veritas" was been getting with ACORN (some coverage, not all inaccurate. It was a fun and truthful story that should appeal to real journalists) to the exposés on CNN and voter fraud.

More people than ever mistrust the media, and many of us who thought they had some limits to their debauchery have now been disabused of that notion.

The stuff starting to come out now is shocking and if it gets full disclosure

Absolutely. We have learned that good sportsmanship and being polite doesn't not shame them in providing both sides any more, so we have a job ahead of us to get at the truth, and to spread it.

It sounds like he’s saying that only President Trump has standing. I believe we voters do too. Then it’s and Trump vs Pennsylvania, Michigan, Georgia,Wisconsin, Arizona, Nevada, New Mexico....and we the voters to add our name.

I can understand why Texas didn’t have standing. The harm they were stating was pretty weak and speculative. What I don’t understand is why the legislators in each state didn’t take up similar lawsuits.

The constitutional right to choose the method of selecting electors is theirs so there is no question of standing. It would be a slower process with multiple lines of litigation in parallel working their way up through the lower courts but it could set some real precedent in how this situation is handled. We absolutely must get a cleaner election process or nothing but the most corrupt and underhanded people will exist in elected offices.

We need to rescind the seventeenth Amendment and resurrect Article I, §3, Clauses 1 and 2 of the federal Constitution, according to which federal Senators for a given state were elected by the members of the state legislature. Only then will state legislatures in a given state dedicated to the rule of law and not of evil men be restored to a position of leverage in opposition to the republic-degrading or republic-destroying actions (or failures to act in the case of PA, MI, WI, GA, AZ, NV and NM) of state legislatures in other states who seemingly no longer care about such niceties.

As a Texan, if we do not have the right to sue other states for breaking the Constitution, then NO state or Federal government has the right to intervene in our determinate course of action.

SECESSION NOW!

I hope Texas does secede if Biden takes over, because I know that many other states would join 5 minutes later. And I’ll be moving my stuff pronto from the Blue State I’m in. I’ve had enough.

"The Roberts Court will go down as one of the worst, if not the worst court in American history."

Some of the reasons that the country has a corrupt Supreme Court are as follows imo. Since the corrupt, constitutionally undefined political parties have split both Houses of Congress, even if the House were to impeach a justice, the Senate would have difficulty finding the 2/3 supermajority of senators needed to remove justice from bench.

Also, thanks to the ill-conceived 17th Amendment, ordinary citizens are voting for senators who evidently don’t know the federal government’s constitutionally limited powers any better than the voters who supported them do.

So corrupt, constitutionally clueless senators not only work with the likewise corrupt House to pass bills that steal state powers and uniquely associated state revenues, but those senators also confirm corrupt justices who declare the unconstitutional laws that the senate helped the House pass to be constitutional.

What a scam!

We desperately need to get rid of 17th Amendment and restrict federal domestic policy to delivering the mail as the Founding States had intended.

"Article I, Section 8, Clause 7: To establish Post Offices and post Roads;"

The 16th Amendment can disappear too.

They could talk themselves into a new Bentley with this argument. No wonder we are so effed up.

Silly me. I read the Texas argument and thought it was about protecting voter rights not who became VP to break spinate tie votes.

These people have way too much time to contemplate their navels and other scholarly pursuits.

You have to keep a Republic to worry about future hearings in it or theory of law.

I said scrotus would punt but not because of standing. I thought it would be because the Constitution already provides for resolution of a disputed election and that had not been completed.

If the swamp is indeed global, no domestic agency can resolve or negate the problem.

Further, I do NOT want SCOTUS, or anyone OTHER than the duly elected CINC, pulling the trigger on any global military operation, that requires Time On Target precision.

Exactly.

They punted. They always weave a tale of no standing to punt and ignore same when they want to legislate.

I’m wound up on the stupidity of McDirt v. Oklahoma right now. Reservations not disestablished! WTH do the fools think the Dawes Act did? It was intended to clear the way for statehood and did. We were taught that without the Dawes Act there could be no State of Oklahoma.

It’s okay to decide on killing babies...

Well, as it turns out The SCOTUS has honed the bestowing of "standing" to a fine art. Unborn babies, whose lives are at stake, are effectively not granted standing. "Privacy" is somehow found to be more compelling so as to provide for a less stressful life for the mother, often seeking abortion for for convenience.

Seven members of the court lost their souls to the devil in Jan. 1973 as a result of "blind justice". It wasn't the first time and Texas Vs.Ga et. al. won't be the last

What a pack of black robed fools.

Most accurate statement I have read so far.

Another thing we have no say in though.

It is time for diplomacy by alternative means. All other efforts have failed. I think this is the reality we must come to grips with.

Those we have elected and hired to represent us do not.

Baloney of course Texas had standing.

Frankly, I'm sick to death of everyone and their brother telling US what we can't do to correct this hell bound course we are on. Apparently nothing is Constitutional. Why don't some of these clowns fill US in on what we can do?, before we get to the point of stretching necks.

I have thought that our brand of liberty is too easily destroyed by our brand of liberty.

It assumed that only one form of gooberment would be wanted and for that to continue. It never anticipated anyone would be fool enough to ever use freedom to invoke socialism as it has.

A new republic must also stipulate the obvious. The founders thought it did.

I also don’t think anyone ever intended for a minority to work to support the majority.

Just proves the difference between common sense and twisted educated fools doesn’t it?

Don’t be confused by smarts vs education and mere credentials.
