SHAPIRO: What happened in the early 1980s that led to this consent decree?
HASEN: Well, the Democrats accused the Republican National Committee of engaging in a number of activities which they said was voter suppression in violation of the Voting Rights Act and other civil rights laws. One thing the RNC was accused of was sending armed police officers off duty to polling places to patrol the polling places in minority areas.
Rather than going to trial, the RNC agreed to settle the case, and it settled the case in what's called a consent decree, which means that the settlement between the parties was embodied in a court order. And if the RNC ever violated that order, they could be found in contempt. And so this was a very powerful too that the Democrats have been able to use for the last few decades.

From 1981 to Dec. 2017, the RNC operated under threat of a contempt of court consent decree.
The DNC fox knew the RNC guard dog was locked in the house, so the DNC stole all of the chicken votes at every opportunity. ][
Another reminder of big tent GOP screwing the average party member and conservatives.

The Democrats had almost 4 decades unfettered, and contesting election fraud became atrophied among most Republicans.
“ But Trump adds something different here. He has made voter fraud a centerpiece of his rhetoric about campaigns. He’s claimed falsely that 3 to 5 million people voted illegally in the last election, and he’s organized people to try to be on the lookout for voter fraud at polling places.”
Cops patrolling the polling places sounds like an excellent idea to prevent criminal election theft.
But it was perfectly okay for armed Black Panthers to intimidate white voters at the polling place. Just ask Eric Holder. The GOP are jellyfish. The Jellyfish Party. TJP.
Answer: Cry "Rayciss!"
Yep, the big tent GOP has had their head up their collective fanny since 1981.
The jokes about the GOP’s circular firing squads all seem to be true.
Thanks for posting. It’s about time. Strange that no one mentioned it until after the consent decree expired.
I wrote about it back in 2012 in my humble blog:

You can see why we sent armed guards to precincts. Republican poll watchers and workers are kicked out!! Additionally, most of the fraud is coming from inner city immigrant areas!
The party about to lose the election by razor thin margins in the 11th hour in several states has asked for protection against vote fraud for decades.
The party about to win the election by razor thin margins in the 11th hour insisted vote fraud was rare, isolated and fought increased protections against fraud.
Whether or not the election is skewed by fraud, anyone unwilling to understand why the aggrieved party is skeptical and frustrated is acting in bad faith.

Thanks for the response
