Still think each county in each state should get an electoral vote.

.........................................................

3,143 electors.

...each county in each state should get an electoral vote...
-
That would never work.
Georgia has 159 counties.
California has 58 counties.
Alaska has no counties.

My favorite is what my brother says when he hears her: “That woman’s voice could curdle urine.”

The two most reptilian and repellant voices in politics?

Hillary Rodham (Clinton) and...

Chuck Schumer.

They are kamado claws down a chalk board.

We are at the point where we could easily lose our Republic.

I have just finished a 600+ page biography on Cicero. The exact same issues and problems are with us right now as were with the Romans back then.

Our Founders read Cicero, especially his Philippics which he wrote during the last fight of the Roman Republic. They learned all the nuances as to how it could be stolen and they worked diligently to put in as many failsafes and checks as they could possibly prepare for.

I believe we are at a crossroads.

Seems that this year’s election issues precisely establish a reason for keeping the Electoral College process around: it’s a means of checks and balances for ensuring that the process is conducted fairly and properly... and a means for correcting instances of malfeasance.

Assuming that such things are applied this year, of course.

We need a few volunteers to “abolish” Hillary Clinton’s stay on planet Earth. Just need 500 yards of unobstructed view ...

“Still think each county in each state should get an electoral vote.”

That might be going too far away for a popular vote.

But, if you abolish the electoral college you might as well abolish the Senate, our senior legislative body, since in the Senate each state has equal representation.

An alternative method as practiced in some States maybe worth consideration – 1 EV for every Congressional district in the State; then the two Electors corresponding to their Senators would be awarded to the total State vote winner…

That way, States like Alaska or Wyoming with a single “District” would have all 3 Electoral votes go to same way they do now. The bigger States like California would be better apportioned, particularly where large population centers are concerned; then it wouldn’t matter if the big-city district went 85% for the Democrat or 125% like they do now (/S). The difference wouldn’t matter in the 2 EV bonus anyway.
