The NFL enjoyed a rebound in the ratings and a relatively rare week of good fortune over the Thanksgiving holiday, but it did not last.
One week after having their best ratings week of the year, the NFL faceplanted with a 14.5 million viewer average for Week 13. That number represented a 29% drop in viewership from Week 13 of last season. For the year, the league is averaging 15.2 million viewers per week, an eight percent drop season-to-date.

Are the networks obligated to keep paying even if viewership tanks?
not missing it...I do check the scores to see how one player from the local area is doing also to see if the seahawks lost..crossing fingers...
Seattle won. Beating the Jets 40-3.
Boycott means cancel any TV package with ESPN
are the loss of in person viewing (another 60k or so per week) and the numbers are even worse. This when more people have fewer outside the home options and one would expect viewership to be way up. Could happen to a nicer bunch of social justice thugs
Oh my oh my oh my....As I’m listening to the classic “Joy to the World”, I realized my not watching NFL and many other patriots have made a difference.

Depending on how these ratings were calculated, I’ll bet the decline was actually far worse.
This years Super Bowl will complete this ratings disaster.
The word is already out that ... “this year’s Super Bowl ads will prominently feature social and racial justice issues, along with Covid-19 messages, according to a sports business trade report.”

I know we’ll find something else to do that suffering through one sermon on racial equality after another. One wonders if Colin Kaepernick will be a guest announcer?
Did you hear that, advertisers? I haven't seen a single one of your hundreds of ads since February!
I’m not a lawyer but unless viewership clauses are written into the contracts my guess is they are.But when the contracts come up for renewal it will be a different story.
I haven’t watched a minute of NFL , checked who’s playing, won-lost column.
Had a Colin-ectomy 3+ yrs ago.
Don’t even think about it anymore.
Had a Bubba-ectomy also. Cured me of NASCAR too.
Burgess Owens, former NFL player, Super Bowl winner, and Representative-elect from Utah, has declared he’s through watching NFL until commissioner Roger Goodell is fired.
I was an avid football fan. I stuck to my guns and vowed never to watch another game until the Felons League got rid their anti America stance. I cannot believe so many still watch. Our nation is floundering and it will take a miracle to straighten it out.
