PARIS -- U.S. President-elect Joe Biden pledged Saturday to rejoin the Paris climate accord on the first day of his presidency, as world leaders staged a virtual gathering to celebrate the fifth anniversary of the international pact aimed at curbing global warming.

Heads of state and government from over 70 countries took part in the event — hosted by Britain, France, Italy, Chile and the United Nations — to announce greater efforts in cutting the greenhouse gas emissions that fuel global warming.

“The United States will rejoin the Paris Agreement on day one of my presidency,” he said. “I’ll immediately start working with my counterparts around the world to do all that we possibly can, including by convening the leaders of major economies for a climate summit within my first 100 days in office.”

Biden reiterated his campaign pledge that his administration will set a target of cutting U.S. emissions to net zero “no later than 2050.”

Biden insisted that the dramatic economic shifts needed would be positive for American workers.

“We have before us an enormous economic opportunity to create jobs and prosperity at home and export clean American-made products around the world, harnessing our climate ambition in a way that is good for American workers and the U.S. economy,” he said.

American representatives at the virtual meeting included Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer, Gov. Charlie Baker of Massachusetts and U.S. business leaders, such as Apple chief executive Tim Cook.

Yep. John Kerry has been appointed Biden’s climate czar. He already has announced that he in his profound wisdom will be spending $2 trillion US dollars around the world to “battle” climate change. Other Biden appartchiks will be dismantling the US carbon based energy industry and the prosperity it fuels.

Ask yourself the following question: Is the US dollar likely to strengthen or weaken over the next three years. If you really believe that Biden and the people who control him will lead America and the world into a green new nirvana then by all means hold dollars, invest and make more dollars. But if you believe that resources will be squandered, productivity and the creation of wealth diminished , then the dollar will lose considerable value. What to do? Hunker down,resist and buy gold.

The United Kingdom is having big problems because of an agreement previously made.

No sane political leader would ever tie his country’s economy up needlessly.

There are climate deniers and climate liars. The climate has always changed without without humans around. How about sunspots causing climate change. I hope there are no sunspot deniers around.

“export clean American-made products around the world”

China exports solar cells and panels. Americans buy them. Wake up Joe.

New technology products are generally made in China.

Awesome. Then we can throw away good money at an even faster pace. We might even have more of this:

But hey. They might recover $200 million of the over $750 million flushed down the drain so there is that. Clean up on aisle 3.

How is it possible for a country that is bankrupt to go bankrupt?

The next time anyone tells me about manmade climate change I will throw their comments on the election back at them. My response will be: “show me the EVIDENCE!” or “show me the proof”. End of debate...

And just like that, we’ll go from energy independence and being the world’s largest exporter of energy back to being energy dependent and exporting next to nothing.

Biden pledged to rejoin the Paris climate accord.......

With Democrats, its always "follow the money" from the US Treasury to numbtd offshore acounts.
There's BIG MONEY for insiders in that move.........ask Obama.

CIRCA 2017---Barack Obama transfers $500m to Green Climate Fund to protect Paris deal last days in office;
That's Obama's second $500M withdrawn from State Dept using executive powers; bypassing congress' role complete
By Michael Slezak / Tue 17 Jan 2017 / Last modified on Wed 14 Feb 2018

Barack Obama has transferred a second $500m installment from the State Dept to the Green Climate Fund just three days before he leaves office.

Photograph: Evan Vucci/AP Barack Obama has heeded calls to help secure the future of the historic Paris agreement by transferring a second $500m installment to the Green Climate Fund, just three days before he leaves office.

The fund was a key aspect of the Paris agreement signed in 2015, which aims to keep global warming “well below” 2C and aspires to keep warming to 1.5C. Established in 2010, it is financed by wealthy countries and used to assist developing countries with adaptation and mitigation. It was widely seen as a key measure to bring both rich and poor countries to the negotiating table. The US committed to transferring $3bn to the fund.

The Obama installment leaves $2bn owing, with the incoming president, Donald Trump, expected to cease any further payments.

=====================================

The Paris billion made a short cut thru numbered accounts in a French Polynesian bank w/ some of it going to an Hawaiian and a Martha's Vineyard realtor.
