I really think this take is wrong though: And I’ve not said a word about the massive spiritual crisis, as it seems that evangelical Christianity has become defined by solidarity with Trump more than by solidarity with Jesus.
The spiritual crisis isn't the conflation of Trump with Jesus, not at all. What hurts Christians most is the majority of pastors haven't been willing to, or capable of prophetically pointing out how demonically inspired the left is, their worship of secular domination and power, and their alignment with the spiritual forces of evil.
This is an issue and one that makes the Christian appear blind to Satan’s deception in this regard.
In fact, it is the very left’s behavior that has pushed many Christians to start treating Trump like the savior of our Nation. Oh, that may be a hard statement to reckon with at the moment, but I see it here on FR a lot.
” I sense that the Lord today would have me very, simply say, that we would do well to get our eyes off of Trump, get our eyes off of this election, get our eyes off of this world, and refocus our eyes upon Jesus.” J.D. Farag, Now What 11/9/2020, YouTube https://youtu.be/z903nKjxWyA
