“I have been on the phone on a weekly basis with CEOs across the country, and it’s not just California,” Texas Gov. Greg Abbott told CNBC. On Friday, Oracle became the latest company to announce it was moving its headquarters to Texas.
The Republican governor’s comments came shortly after it was reported that software giant Oracle is moving its corporate center from Redwood City, California, in Silicon Valley to Austin, Texas.

My son works for a medium-sized tech firm in California that is relocating to San Antonio, Texas. Owner says taxes and regulations did him in.

I keep hearing ignorant libs saying red states can’t live without taxes from blue states. That is hilarious. Blue states produce nothing but crap movies and music. They are all service related industry which does not produce anything of value. Thanks to Trump we now have a big increase in companies producing real tangible goods thorough Red States while they were being driven out of anti-business Blue States. When was the last time you heard of businesses relocating TO California or New York? Yet almost every day a company announces they are leaving them. Here are some other points:
California has slaughterhouses but red states have the cattle. If an old America citizen wants a steak they will have to buy it from New America at a high price.
California grows grapes and kiwi fruit but if an Old American wants grain or other fruits and vegetables they will have to buy it from New America at a high price.
New America will have ALL the oil rigs AND the oil reserves and if Old America needs some they will pay dearly for it.
New America will have ALL the renewable forrest and if Old America needs lumber they will pay New America for it.
Conservative Northern California will have the courage needed to do what it has wanted to do for a ling time, separate from the rest of California and will provide New America a West Coast port.
What businesses still in California and New York will join the thousands that already left and strengthen New Americas economy while destroying Old Americas.
Old American citizens wanting to visit New America will require a passport and pay big time tolls for interstate travel.
After a year or so anyone wanting to relocate to New America will be required to follow strict immigration procedures.
Need Red State taxes my arse! We could develop the richest country ever in very little time.
I’m not in Texas and don’t buy the “invasion turns us blue” idea anyway. You don’t turn down business because you are afraid of who might move into your state.
Texans are already flooding into southern Missouri.
And go to where?
They have already flipped Greater Houston (Harris and Fort Bend Counties) from reliably red to blue ...

States aren’t ever going to turn down business out of fear of who might move in.
People worried about workers moving into a state like Texas and changing it are nuts. It’s an old, tired and wrong idea to base economic policy on that.
29 million people in Texas. Even liberal states are 35-49% RED, and people who work in the private sector and are willing to relocate are less likely to be liberal than govt workers and leeches on the govt.
Total BS myth that people love to quote.
People can live in whatever state they want and no state is going to turn down business over that silly worry.

This idea that liberals can move everywhere and change states from red to blue is lunacy, there aren’t enough of them.
Texas has changed mostly from people moving in from south of the border, not people moving within the USA.
It’s a MYTH and simple math tells you it’s BS.
