North Face turns back on Texas oil and gas company, refuses jacket order

ODESSA, Texas (KOSA) - Innovex Downhole Solutions says it was recently denied an order of jackets by The North Face, a popular outdoor recreation company, because Innovex is an oil and gas business.

“I was surprised but not surprised, if that makes sense,” said Innovex CEO Adam Anderson.

Innovex is based in Houston and has nearly 100 workers in the Permian Basin.

Each year, the company gets a Christmas gift for its employees. This year, it was supposed to be a North Face jacket with an Innovex logo, a company Innovex has ordered gear from in the past.

The company providing the jackets said The North Face doesn’t want to support the oil and gas industry in the same way they’d reject the porn industry or tobacco industry.

“They told us we did not meet their brand standards,” Anderson said. “We were separately informed that what that really meant is was that we were an oil and gas company.”

The irony of The North Face denying service to an industry that provides its ability to make and sell its products isn’t lost, either.

“The recreational activities they encourage are all ones that require hydrocarbons to make the products, to provide the means to get to whatever activity folks want to perform,” Anderson said. “It’s just so intertwined with everything that we do.”

Another company conservatives should avoid.

Their stuff is good, but overpriced. Kind of a silly move when there are hundreds of companies that sell winter jackets.

I’m sure some other company would gladly take an approximate $25,000 order.

They should have ordered wedding cakes instead of jackets.

Where do they think plastic comes from? Do any of their clothes have plastic?

The majority of people wearing north face clothing have no idea what the north face is.

Liberals are trying to crush Trump. All that he has done for America, (jobs, profits, stocks, etc) is threatened if the left succeeds against Trump. Your own job may be threatened.

It’s sort of a pity the gas company can’t shut off service to North Face factories or employees, that service stations would refuse gasoline to them, that the power couldn’t be cut off to their homes, etc, (except insofar as it was solely wind or solar electricity).

Hypocrites. They would be living in a stone or wood shack burning firewood to stay warm if not for our Oil and Gas Industry. I wish they could be forced to live for a year without any plastic, lubricants, transportation, electricity, etc. Even there desired face coverings involve synthetics from oil.

There is not a single industry I can think of that does not use something from either oil or gas.

A better question is “Do any of their clothes have any non-plastic elements?”.

Probably the zippers are plastic. Cheap. I’ve had several warm coats ruined by crappy zippers.

I wonder how much petroleum goes into making their jackets?

Yup. I prefer “South Butt”. :-) Actually if I can avoid the name companies these days, I/we do. Most of them are such friggin’ hypocrites.

Is North face clothing petroleum free? How do they commute to their workplace, bicycle? Are all their machines powered with gerbils?

Virtue signaling fascist.

A few years ago, someone started a company to mock them, called South Butt. I think there was a lawsuit involved, but I don't remember the outcome. Anyway, it was funny.

I'll stick with Carhartt.

Well you better start chopping some wood before that’s banned as well. The evil ones want you totally dependent on them for everything.
