We only need to hold up a for swing states. This isn’t as hard as it sounds. Other states can join in
Oh stop, no it hasn’t.
The Texas case was denied by jurisdiction, not merit.
As I have said before every legal avenue available to resolve this must be exhausted before more drastic measures are required ...
No, there were two contested elections in the 1800s where each state got one vote and elected the president. Republicans currently hold 28 statehouses.
Be patient.
There’s a reason why Thomas didn’t write anything...
Far more to this than us 3rd grade lawyers can imagine.
Yes we are now past the courts. If the key players of those 18 states refuse to send their electors Biden cannot get to 270 and it gets thrown into the House of Representatives. Trump will win.
Not for long. If it’s as bad as you say, and it appears, then something will happen rather quickly.
Look how fast things moved after that Texas court case?
Gee, what if Texas seceded? How many other states would within hours?
But, before we go THERE, there’s far more legal stuff going on.
Also, and this is VERY important.
We have not yet heard one peep about e0 13848 and the countless men and women that were monitoring the airwaves and foreign assets on election day, and leading up to election day. You really think that nothing happened?
But by all means-listen to folks telling you it’s that if it makes you feel better for a little while longer. But it’s not reality.
That mess created the 12th amendement, the way the POTUS is selected. It’s far more complicated and interesting than we know, because all we know generally are elections where one candidate conceded.
The OTHER side of this issue coin is that the US Constitution was abrogated by four states which chose to ignore the Constitutional process of remonstrance. The cowardly court is gathered under the Roberts black robe, smelling very nasty.
It’s not happening. But if it makes you feel better until Monday to think it’s happening - go for it. But Monday - it happens.
I'm curious to know what issue he is appealing. And it's a fact the court system is completely corrupt.
I'm all for him going nuclear with the Insurrection Act and make arrests. Millions of votes stolen and no arrests! Declassify all the communications between the conspirators and put them on trial...
maybe Thomas didn’t write anything because he, like many people, didn’t know what words to use for a tragic situation.
‘If all 18 withheld their electors...’
then 377 other electors would cast votes for Joe Biden...
It is Trump's constitutional responsibility to now go scorched earth and Declassify everything this weekend, no more Mr. Nice Guy ...
Contact your Federal Senator and ask them to challenge the electoral college votes on Jan 6-Congress has the last say. My senator is Ted Cruz and I will be sending him an email asking him to challenge. Listen to Rep Mo Brooks
‘The OTHER side of this issue coin is that the US Constitution was abrogated by four states which chose to ignore the Constitutional process of remonstrance.’
four states...? almost all states changed the rules because of covid, including NC, which etended counting mail in votes past election day, which is one of the major plaintiff issues...
I do too, Steve.
“This requires less than 270 EV for a candidate, which depended on SCOTUS nullifying the several states in question. Since that’s not happening, Congress isn’t going to do this.”
You are 100% correct (as I understand the law). The only option at this point is for the legislators in those states to agree to either not send in the electoral vote or send votes for Trump.
Not entirely out of the question, but highly unlikely. My guess is we are stuck with Biden (soon after Harris).
“The Supreme Court, in tossing the Texas lawsuit that was joined by seventeen states and 106 US congressman, has decreed that a state can take unconstitutional actions and violate its own election law. Resulting in damaging effects on other states that abide by the law, while the guilty state suffers no consequences. This decision establishes a precedent that says states can violate the US constitution and not be held accountable. This decision will have far-reaching ramifications for the future of our constitutional republic. Perhaps law-abiding states should bond together and form a Union of states that will abide by the constitution.”
