I think that strategy was to make it less political (that is, the outcome didn’t have to be a Trump victory, but simply a reexamination of the voting procedures in those states and a revision of the totals to reflect that.
I guess Trump could appeal on his own, but I think they would be even less likely to take it on. It’s certainly possible that I’m wrong, and maybe that would work.
I hope the GOP and Trump still try to pursue this through the courts, but it was a pretty devastating loss, considering the number of states involved.
