I even had two six month layoffs, one of which included a 600 mile move to a new job and having to maintain the house and an apartment for 6 months.

At one point I called the mortgage company to ask if they had any programs for unemployed customers who were still paying their bills. Absolutely nothing.

When the dems "forgive" all of the student loans I am going to feel like a real rube for making my kids go to affordable universities and work their way through college so they could graduate debt free.

Yep. I paid off the mortgage early. I even paid my own way through college without gov. freebies. Did the same with our kids’ college costs. Pay our taxes. Don’t owe anyone and have lived fine on waaaay lower incomes than those who have EBT cards. Obviously, I’m doing it all wrong.

BTW, the welfare office secretary here quit after realizing the clients were raking in more than her working income. That tells you something.
