That is the start of a great idea. Let’s give Green Cards and or citizenship to the whole world. Then increase the IRS powers so they can charge everyone in the world taxes. That would pay off the National Debt in no time at all.
Keep up with the real news which is MUCH WORSE. We are currently importing 1+ Million green card immigrants EVERY YEAR.
Do you know what qualifications these new immigrants have? They have a relative in US who already has a green card or is a citizen. One of my own relatives sponsored her 75 year old mother for green card. After a short waiting period, the mother was paid $800/month for supplemental social security and medicaid coverage. The sponsor was not responsible for any of her mother’s expenses.
Most of those 1+ million new immigrants admitted with green cards are either no skills or low skills and no wealth. Guess who supports them? Welfare courtesy of US tax payers.
At least the workers Lofgren is trying to give green cards to ONE TIME are not on welfare and their number is about 6 months of welfare immigrants we import EVERY YEAR.
So keep all these proportions in mind.
