Well, something definitely happened. I live outside of Manistique and I felt a shudder go through my house that night. A while later, sirens went by. I had no idea what was going on. Since then I’ve heard at least three planes overhead, and I’d not noticed any planes before that. I’ve only been here since July, but... I definitely felt something Tuesday night. It startled me.

Sounds like ground and airborne search and rescue operations. Heavily forested territory is a nightmare for search and rescue teams. I used to he in Civil Air Patrol. I remember a civilian aircraft going down in a similarly forested environment about 40ish years ago. The plane went down in summertime. It wasn’t located until the leaves came off the trees in fall.
