His intervention as the candidate affected by the illegality of the 4 states gives Texas and other states joining them insurance that the case cannot be dismissed for lack of standing by these states as Trump has standing as the party singularly impacted by the illegality. No one has more standing than him. The SC will be forced to rule on the merits

Thank you
That’s the courts favorite cop out, no standing
It’s about to get very interesting!

THAT is exactly right.

They are now faced with the dilemma of sticking their tongues out at the President of the United States of America or finally demanding accountability from the States which have engaged in massive fraud and obstruction of justice for the last 4 weeks.

No way of weasel wording all that. The final IN-justice being visited on Donald J. Trump is what they will be colluding with if they try to dance away from this one.

I believe these states already have standing but why take a chance? Trump pretty much guarantees it now. Thanks for the explanation.

It sounds good but your post is 100% wrong. If Trump files a lawsuit he has no standing to file it in the U.S. Supreme Court. The SC is an appellate court in almost every legal matter — which means he would have to first file his suit in state courts and then exhaust all his appeals in state and Federal courts before appealing to the Supreme Court.

Lawsuits can be filed directly with the Supreme Court in very, very limited circumstances. Lawsuits between states are one of the only types of lawsuits that can be filed directly with the SC.

That’s why this was all done this way.

The SC doesn’t have to act on any lawsuit, including a president joining a lawsuit.
