Dr Franklin explained on another thread that SCOTUS has to deal with the case. They have original jurisdiction
Ken Starr just said 4 or 5 had to agree to hear....he wasn’t sure about a case appealed directly to SC, rather than up from lower courts.
It bodes well. They’ll likely remand to state legislatures who should be emboldened by this decision from on high.
How many votes does this affect ?
It didn't need a vote, the Supreme Court has to take the case.
Even if it had required approval I wouldn't put too much faith in four votes to grant cert. Every decision that went 9 to 0 against the plaintiff got at least four votes in order to make it on the calendar.
