If people in the U.S. “fought to free Black slaves” they did so unnecessarily. The original constitution provided an amendment process to emancipate slaves peacefully. It should have been used, or better yet the slaves states should have voted to exclude slavery from the U.S. Constitution from the start.
The slave states were: New York, New Jersey, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Delaware and Maryland.
Also North and South Carolina, Georgia and Virginia were
slave states. Don't ever forget to cast 4/13ths responsibility in that direction.
