The longer this goes on the more I am reminded of the passage, I think from Solzhenitsyn about the purpose of getting people to admit to patently ridiculous things is to abolish the concept of dignity.
This isn’t about public health. If it were they’d quarantine the sick and not the healthy. Because nobody has any immunity to this disease, barring a vaccine, the only way it is going to go away is for everyone to get it.
I write this as my wife and I have the disease. So it isn’t like I am just blowing smoke. While symptomatic, will avoid people if we can. I do not expect healthy people to avoid each other.
Mrs. JimRed and I were infected and have recovered. We quarantined for two and a half weeks. Frankly, I have had colds that were as uncomfortable and lasted as long. Most of my symptoms were over quickly; no fever after the fifth day and little coughing (other than my personal "normal" cough from postnasal drip; had that for years). My fever was low grade, 100.5 or so. My wife said she had a reading of 104 but I suspect she may have misread the thermometer. We were not put on any special medication but told to call for meds if we got really sick.
