Pennsylvania reported 11,763 new coronavirus infections on Friday, another one-day record. Thursday’s total of 11,406 new infectious was the previous record.
Pennsylvania also has recorded 169 new deaths, raising the total to 11,113, according to newly-updated figures on the state’s public tracking dashboard. That’s an increase of more than 1,000 deaths in little more than a week.
Hospitalized patients and those needing intensive care also continued to surge, with 5,071 people hospitalized with COVID-19, and 1,065 needing intensive care, the health department said.
The intensive care situation to cause alarm, with fewer than 700 intensive care beds still open, according to the state dashboard. Fortunately, a strong cushion of regular beds remained available -- about 3,000 -- and hospitals and state officials say regular beds can be converted to ICU beds.
Still, staffing those beds is a major concern. Two regions of the state, including a 16-county region that includes Harrisburg, York and Lancaster, are nearing staffing crisis, with numerous hospitals in each region expecting staff shortages within a week, according to figures collected by the health department.
Health officials are pleading with the public to wear face masks, wash hands frequently, social distance and avoid gatherings, saying it’s the only viable way to prevent hospitals from becoming so overwhelmed the can’t care properly for COVID-19 patients as well as those arriving with things such as heart attacks, strokes and car crash injuries.
“Mask-wearing is required in all businesses and whenever leaving home. Consistent mask-wearing is critical to preventing the spread of COVID-19,” the state said in a news release.
The health department said it is seeing “significant increase” in younger people testing positive, especially people between 19 and 24.
In nursing and personal care homes, there are 37,946 resident cases of COVID-19, and 7,124 cases among employees, for a total of 45,070 at 1,316 facilities in 65 counties. Of the total deaths, 6,900 have occurred in residents from nursing or personal care facilities, the health department said.
About 15,269 infections in Pennsylvania involve health care workers, the health department said.

Nursing home deaths as pecentage of total are creeping up again.
Today: 6900/11113 = 62%
High water mark had been 68% in late spring, fell to 60.7 two days ago.
And of those positive tests, what exactly is the false positive rate?
Of those hospitalized, exactly how many are there for other reasons - for example, heart attack and a positive test, regular flu and positive test, pneumonia and a positive test? And, of those hospitalized exactly how many of those are included in the number of false positives above?
This is good. They will soon all be immune.
What is with PA voters?

Since they REDEFINED what a “COVID-19 case” means, the numbers have understandably exploded. It means absolutely nothing.

It is ENDEMIC.
We will ALL get exposed..over and over.
MANY of us will “test positive”, mostly without symptoms.
SOME of us will be “symptomatic”, and a subset will be really sick.
And (unfortunately) a FEW of us will die.

The left is just using this to justify another multi-trillion dollar “rescue” package if Biden is sworn in. They want control over us and this is the vehicle they are using.
And (unfortunately) a FEW of us will die.
I rarely wear a mask, and then only to enter a building that is all Karen about it. Then I take it off. Sometimes employees track me down. Then I cover everything but my nose, and take it off temporarily continually while in the store. But that only happens every few weeks. I rarely don a mask.
Don’t tell us how many infections. Tell us how many hospitalizations. Tell us how many deaths JUST from this virus. Tell us how many of those people who died had an existing DNR.
From what i have seen in medical journals, that percentage of a percentage is abysmally low. Like, 99.5% of all people who get survive, and of that .5% who die, 99% of them have a DNR, which means that they already have a life-ending illness of some sort, know it, and have taken steps to prevent resuscitation if they stop breathing or their heart stops.
So, in a nutshell, this whole thing from top to bottom is a HOAX.
