If most of them learned to code, silicon valley wouldn’t need the Slave Labor

Couldn’t happen to a nicer group of far left, “woke” leftists.

Walt would be turning over in his grave if he could see what’s happened to Disney.

This is unfair, most of the layoffs are gay people.

I guess if most of the employees are gay people that makes sense.

That unknown tally will join the 28,000 park employees who were laid off in September. Disney reported a $3.1 billion third-quarter loss this month, following a $4.7 billion hit during Q2.

Yet, mysteriously, housing prices have increased 14% this year. Something doesn't make sense.

Yeah, I read a thread about this yesterday evening. I agree that Disney has become something of a sewer that needs to be rooted out, but the fact is that tens of thousands of everyday Americans with families, homes, bills to pay, and who daily contribute to the economy are losing their livelihoods. This is not something to be wildly happy about. Just my $.02.

The Disney Star Wars movies sure got panned like nothing I’ve ever seen. And yes, they were that bad. They’ve ruined the franchise.

I agree. But this has been my take on the response to the virus since early april. This is the sort of thing you are going to be seeing all over the western world and every US state come 2021. Hard times are ahead.

I'd be checking the bosses Cayman Island accounts.

Boo Hoo

Disney has been indoctrinating children for YEARS with the Leftist POV. Sometimes subtle, sometimes blatant. The cover of The Little Mermaid, yes it was originally in VHS which we still have, had a perfect penis in the spires of the underwater castle. And in that video, which you could stop pretty much in each frame, when Eric is getting married to Ursula, the ‘priest’ gets an erection. Not kidding. I pointed that out to my Socialist sister back in the day and her response was the Disney response ‘he’s just raising his knee under his tunic’.

We lived in SoCal for 20 years. The Disney organization was often referred to as ‘Mouschwitz’. We had friends who worked at the Disney Channel. No Conservatives welcome. Walt Disney, a family man who died in 1965 (around then anyway) must be rolling in his grave at what the overlords have done to his family oriented Company. More’s the pity.

Every-time I try to predict how certain macro events will affect the economy, and RE in particular, I am usually wrong...after 9/11 I thought NYC would become a ghost town - and nobody would want to live in/near high value terrorist targets - and yet RE values skyrocketed; when Covid hit and the layoffs started, I again thought for sure that RE values would plummet everywhere - especially places where most of the houses depend on AirBNB income to pay their mortgage - and yet everything once again went straight up...guess I should be a TV economist in my next life.

Pity.

At the same time people are being laid off and coronavirus is worsening the GOP senate just passed a bill, UNDER UNANIMOUS CONSENT, to do away with the country caps on employment based green cards.

Our “friends” in the GOP senate could care less about the plight of 20 million Americans out of work.
