Physicians in the Netherlands are now authorized to sedate dementia patients - without prior approval - before euthanizing them if it is conceivable that they will become "agitated or aggressive" while the doctor gears up to end their life.
The policy change comes after the review committee for cases of euthanasia updated its policies for patients diagnosed with dementia or a similar health condition, The Guardian reports.
One amended policy states that for dementia patients, "it is not necessary for the doctor to agree with the patient the time or manner in which euthanasia will be given..."

Some of the founding members of the EU were Nazi’s and the stated mission statement of the EU was also basically the same.

Aktion T4 was the Nazi program to kill the disabled. Top officials in the program were hanged by the Allies after the war. Too bad for them, they seem to have been ahead of their time and would have fit right in today in The Netherlands.

Our “assisted” suicide in the U.S. at least is voluntary. People with terminal illness/intractable pain are usually prescribed enough narcotics that they could choose to end their lives peacefully if they take them all at once. But it’s voluntary.

My regiment liberated then in WW2 when nobody else would. What a waste.
Allies didn’t. It wasn’t important enough. My regiment did.
Well, at least the crimes against humanity tribunals are held in the Netherlands, so these doctors won’t have very far to commute...
